Three taps to set it up

Most users are done with setup in under 90 seconds. Connecting a thermostat or pairing the family is optional and can wait.

1

Anchor home

Tap "I'm home" while you're at home. We pin those exact coordinates as your weather lookup. Not your nearest airport — your actual house.

2

Set comfort

Pick the indoor temperature range you're comfortable in. Or skip — we'll suggest a range based on your local climate after a few days of readings.

3

Allow notifications

That's the whole job. We send a nudge when there's actually something worth doing. Typical day: 2-3 alerts. Perfect shoulder-season day: maybe none.

What the alerts look like

Three notification types you'll see most days, in plain English, with the exact action and why.

Open prompt

"Outside 64°F is cooler than your house (~74°F). Open two windows for ~2 hours to bank free cooling."

Close prompt

"Outdoor's about to cross 74°F — close now and the morning's cool stays inside all day."

Pre-bedtime nudge

"Cool air tonight: 64°F around 5 AM. Crack a window before bed to bank ~10°F of free cooling overnight."

Sharing with your family

Free, no accounts. Built for households where more than one person can act on the alerts.

1

Show a QR

Settings → Family Sharing → Invite. Your phone displays a QR code valid for 20 minutes plus a 6-character backup code.

2

Scan from the other device

Family member opens WindowWise on their phone, taps "Have a join code?", scans the QR (or types the 6 characters if you texted it).

3

You're synced

Both devices share the same household. Whoever closes the windows on their device, the other device sees it seconds later. Up to 10 devices in a household.
